FIRST EDITION CAMP AT GUIEDIAWAYE 2023
Hoops and Scholars: Elevating Futures On and Off the Court!"
The Second edition basketball camp was held by the Ndaw Foundation in Guediawaye, Senegal. We wanted to express our heartfelt appreciation to Abdoulaye Diene, who was not only Colin Lamine's teammate but also a remarkable representative of Senegal. Colin had been deeply inspired by Abdoulaye's incredible journey and resilience. In honor of his contributions, we organized a camp in Abdoulaye's neighborhood. The camp was an amazing experience, celebrating Abdoulaye's achievements and inspiring the next generation, just as he has inspired us.
The theme of the camp was through dedication, determination, and discipline, the youth in society will thrive. The camp incorporated dynamic warm-ups, body weight lifts, skills stations, and all-star games.
Moreover, we added a skills challenge, dunk contest, and three-point shootout to give everyone the ability to showcase their talent. In between the exercises, we added fun games that made every athlete have to interact with everybody, which helped build friendships.
Over 60 young athletes attended the camp, and we were able to give them 50+ shoes and 100+ pieces of sports clothing. Lastly, the Ndaw Foundation emphasized the importance of being together, helping each other, and prioritizing education.
